Just a bit of a teaser, since it’s 11:39pm, and we just got home from London, ate some chicken picked up from the rest stop KFC on the way home, got kids into bed, and are now checking up on email, etc. No real time right now for an actual trip rundown (and besides, I am sure there are not many people reading this anyway :)) but I will post a few fun pictures now and then finish up the entry tomorrow.
That’s Regent Street, one of the major shopping strips in town – with places like Liberty and Hamley’s Toy Store, The Gap, and other “foreign” stores. More on that tomorrow 🙂 We didn’t go to any of the Jubilee Events, but being in town at that time sure was exciting since every shop was dressed up, and random people were walking on the streets with faces painted with the Union Jack and silly Union Jack hats on. In case you are reading this and don’t know, the Diamond Jubilee is the celebration of the Queen’s 60th year on the throne. She was crowned when she was 19, when her dad (Colin Firth in The King’s Speech – George VI maybe?) died. Sketchy details for now, but I’ll get the real info up tomorrow 🙂
We went as a family over to the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge, so here’s a cool picture of us in front of the bridge, and then one from yesterday afternoon – Big Ben with a huge rainbow, since it was threatening rain all day yesterday. All for now – enjoy these, and come back for more tomorrow!
